I am so thankful that Art Yoga has opened and the Unni is once again, teaching in our area. Her class is just what I need. The gentleness and care that she takes in our class gets me stretch and relaxed without alot of discomfort. Her devoted attention to breathing gives even more benefit to the poses. It is so important that I stretch as I got older because I am very athletic and want to be able to do my sports for many years to come. Unni is peace and inspiration.

When I first heard of flying yoga I figured that only tiny ballerinas or cirque du soleil types could enjoy such a practice. I was concerned that I'd be too heavy and break the thin hammock (called a ribbon), easily get hurt, and impossible to meditate.

I was completely wrong! Rubi and her team at Art Yoga Studio have mastered the concept of allowing people of all ages, shapes, and sizes to take advantage of the benefits offered from flying yoga. First of all, the ribbons have a weight capacity of 1,000 pounds. Second, if you are a beginner the hammock actually provides a source of stability and resistance for those hard to balance floor positions. They also help to decompress your back and body from the daily stresses of walking and standing. Finally, the meditation is remarkable, laying in the ribbon suspended in air reminded me of what it must feel like to be a baby in the womb. If you have not tried flying yoga, I highly suggest giving it a fair shot at this studio!

I'm enjoying your Yin Yoga classes and learning more about my body and its abilities to adapt to the various postures. Also learning about the breath and its importance in all this. A stimulating environment!

Many thanks, Bettina

I've taken several different classes at AFY and found them all to be constructive in strength and relaxation. Rubi has a great way of narrating position to help you find the correct pose and she always transfers her positive energy to her students. Cynthia, who teaches, aerial classes is one of the most encouraging instructors I've ever had. Even as a beginner, you will feel happy with your performance because of her attitude. The studio always has events and reasons to roll up your yoga mat and head to AFY.

I was first nervous about doing flying yoga and that I would fall and hurt myself. But Rubi is amazing and gave me guidance and courage to do things I could not believe. I have found many positions I could not do on my own such as head stands and pigeon that I was able to accomplish in flying yoga. Thank you Rubi! ~

Flying yoga has helped me to go deeper in poses than I ever imagined possible. Its opened a whole new world of possibility for me and this future includes inversions with no compression. Rubi is an amazing instructor and so much fun to work with!
